Sebastian Vettel took pride of place from Lewis Hamilton at the top of the leaderboard in the final free practice session of the Abu Dhabi weekend here on the Yas Marina Circuit this afternoon with s short two hour break before the all-important final qualifying session of the 2016 season.

One tenth of a second separated the Ferrari from the Red Bull of Jos Verstappen with the second Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen in third place overall.

You had to look down to fourth place to find a Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton, who was complaining of brake issues at the end of the session and suffering from an intermittent loss of power at the start of the hour…

“Lost power” he said over the team radio with the team confirming he had an unexpected ‘de-rate’.

He did however manage to finish ahead of Rosberg with Daniel Ricciardo rounding out the top six.
