After finishing second to David Reynolds this morning, Red Bull Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen topped the time sheets in free practice two at the Pukekohe Raceway in New Zealand today.

In contrast to this morning’s damp track, the sun was shining for this season as the Kiwi racer thrilled home fans with a best time of 1:02.46, a new record at the circuit.

Mark Winterbottom had a better session with the second fastest time, followed by Michael Caruso in third.

“It looks easy on TV, but there’s spots your mind and your foot are telling you different things and sometimes I’m getting them mixed up,” Frosty was quoted as saying on teh sport's official website.

“It’s a good turnaround from two weeks ago over the bumps. I’m having fun, it’s good to be up the front racing competitively in the times.”

Scotty McLaughlin, who finished 20th in the opening session, had a lock up at turn five and was forced to cut across the grass on his way to the fourth best time.

Jason Bright was fifth, followed by Jamie Whincup, Garth Tander, David Reynolds and James Courtney.
