Thomas Maxwell put in a superb performance during round two at the Silverstone circuit in England and even his boss at Tech 1 Racing agrees.

The young Aussie racer faced some very challenging conditions at the British circuit with changing weather conditions during qualifying that certainly didn't help when it came to keeping his contender inside the track limits.

As a result, he had his be4st times disallowed and was forced to start from 26th place on the grid. But it was what happened after that that proved this young Darwin boys mettle as he delivered a brilliant comeback fight by overtaking half the field, but unfortunately was handed a penalty after the race which negated his 13th place finish.

Then, in race two on Sunday, Thomas put in yet another stunning charge up though the field, overtaking a total of nine cars to score points for the second time this season.

With his race craft being quite evident, the next challenge is to qualify well and team boss Simon Abadie plans to work together with the young Aussie to improve this skill even further.

“Thomas Maxwell again showed stunning pace as illustrated by his superb fightbacks in the two races,” said Tech 1 Racing team manager Simon Abadie. “His Saturday was a day to forget as his laps in Q1 were cancelled because he exceeded track limits, and then he was given a penalty in a duel with a rival which annihilated all his hard work in the race. Despite particular conditions he again put on a great performance and we're going to continue working on qualifying together to make the most of his strong points.”

The Toulouse-based squad is now in France where the Formula Renault Eurocup will race on the streets of Pau, the scene of five previous victories for the team between 2011 and 2015.
