Garth Tander has been confirmed to take part in the Bathurst 12 hour next month, when he joins other factory drivers in what will be a two car entry by Audi Customer Sport Racing Australia.

Speaking on Australian television this morning, Melbourne Performance Centre’s Troy Russell explained that Tander will join Audi racers, Christoper Mies, who has already won the event on two occasions, and Christoper Haase in the February 3-5 event.

“It puts us in good stead for the race having seen the drivers announced by the other factory teams running all-pro driving line-ups,” Russell explained. “Garth is a great asset and has definitely worked out GT racing, which is a bit different to other cars."

"He’s as quick as any of the professional factory drivers. The other guys are very experienced in Audi’s and a lot of them have Bathurst experience, so it’s a good team. We’ll see what happens…It’s a long 12 Hours.”

The second Audi will be driven by ex F1 driver Markus Winkelhock, Frank Stippler and Robert Frijns.
