Following on from his enduro accident on August 31st, Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi has been slacking off, instead he has been working as hard as he possibly can on his recovery from the double fracture in his right leg.

On Monday The Doctor decided to put his fitness level to the test and gingerly climbed back on board a YZF-R1M.

This outing was successful and the nine time champion completed a few laps around the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli before rain disrupted the trial run.

As the day‘s session was cut short due to the change in weather, the evaluation of Rossi's physical condition was inconclusive.

Therfore he will decide by the end of Wednesday, September 20th, whether he will attempt to take part in this weekend‘s Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón or not.
