Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo isn't the only fast driver to come out of Western Australia with new LDM Supercar racer Alex Rullo being confirmed to race in the 2017 Supercar Championship.

Although the two drivers don't really know each other, Daniel has given some advice to fellow countryman, telling him to just stay cool and not overthink the situation too much when he gets behind the wheel at next month's season opening Clipsal 500 and just have fun.

“You will obviously be overwhelmed with many things that weekend, but if you just stay cool you will do great,” he told Australia's current affairs program, Today Tonight. “For me the biggest thing when I got into Formula 1 with HRT (Daniel's first team whom he raced at Silverstone with in 2011)… that first weekend was crazy.”

“I think the biggest challenge was not the race itself but the media and everything surrounding it. I was just trying to actually save some energy for the race on Sunday. Obviously it is cool to be excited about it all but just make sure you save a little bit in the bag for the race itself and just ride along with it and don't overthink it too much either. Just have fun, basically.”
