Manchester United veteran Michael Carrick has reportedly been approached by Perth Glory about a possible move down under.

Football magazine FourFourTwo has reported that Carrack, who is out of contract at season's end, could fill one of the club's marquee positions next season.

The 34-year-old is reportedly close with Perth captain Richard Garcia, after the pair played together at West Ham, which could tempt the England international to try a stint in the A-League.

However, he is understood to be keen to extend his stay at Manchester United, with contract negotiations currently ongoing.

Carrick has been capped 34 times by England and has had stints at West Ham, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Perth has been on a spending spree this off-season, already signing Adam Taggart, Rhys Williams and Chris Herd.
