Kimi Raikkonen  blitzed the field in the final day of testing as he recorded a best time of 1:18.634 to finish at the top of the timesheets, a good eight tenths of a second quicker than his nearest challenger, the Red Bull Racing contender piloted by Max Verstappen. Kimi put in a total of 111 laps on his final day behind the wheel before the cars take to the Albert Park Circuit in less than two weeks time.

Third quickest on day eighth was the Toro Rosso of Carlos Sainz, who completed an equal most laps of the day with Romain Grosjean, 132, while the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas finished fourth fastest overall, 1.2 seconds behind Raikkonen’s best while teammate Lewis Hamilton was fifth a further .005 behind.

this was the final day of testing here at the Circuit de Catalunya and teams will now pack up the cars and equipment and head down under for the season opener from March 23 – 26th.
