The 2017 season opening Clipsal 500 will see Nick Percat in a one off livery with Schneider Electric, the official naming sponsor of the event putting their weight behind the young South Australian after his famous victory for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport here in 2016.
As this will be the last year they will sponsor the event, they couldn’t think of any better way than by supporting their local driver all the way to another victory.
“I’ve been to every Clipsal event so I have plenty of great memories from throughout the years. I used to come here as a young race fan so to win it last year was just incredible; it doesn’t get much better than that,” Nick said. “Clipsal have sponsored the event since 2000, and it is pretty cool to have them on my car for this event."
"I’m honoured to be a part of Clipsal’s farewell to the Adelaide 500 sponsorship and considering the longevity of this partnership, I think people will still call the event ‘Clipsal’ for many years to come. The home town support is awesome and the locals really love their motorsport. Everyone has a great time at the Clipsal 500 and I can’t wait to get back.”
“Year after year, the hard-working team behind the Clipsal 500 has challenged itself to grow and evolve; an approach which has helped cement the event’s place on the Australian sporting calendar,” added President and Managing Director at Schneider Electric. “We are proud of the event’s growth and have no doubt that it will continue its incredible success into the future."
"We have enjoyed nearly two decades sponsoring and sharing in some fabulous experiences with our customers at the Clipsal 500. This is our last year sponsoring the event but we will continue to play an important role in the Adelaide community and would like to thank everyone involved for the memories. Hopefully our support of Percat this year is serendipitous and helps him bring home the title again.”
The Clipsal 500 will get underway from March 2-5.
