After setting the quickest time on Tuesday with a massive amount of laps clocked up through the day, Felipe Massa was back in action on Wednesday where he shared the driving duties with his new rookie teammate, Lance Stroll.

It was a fairly busy day for the WilliamsF1 team with Felipe trying the ultrasoft tyres for the first time in the morning session giving the team some very valuable data.

The Brazilian driver was satisfied with the results of the morning session behind the wheel of the FW40-02 / Mercedes-AMG F1 M08 EQ Power+, however he is still unsure where they stand in comparison to their rivals.

“It was a good morning,” he said. “We completed all of our programmes and, like yesterday, I had a good feeling in the car. We’re happy with everything we tried in terms of set-up and trying different tyres. I’ve had a very good day and a half, but hopefully this is just the beginning and we can finish testing well. I’m very happy with what I’ve seen and what I feel in the car. It’s still difficult to know where we are compared to the others, but the car is definitely looking positive.”
