2016 Moto World Champion, Marc Marquez, is aiming to continue Honda’s winning streak and make it five victories in a row at this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix, the third Moto event in as many weeks.

Teammate Dani Pedrosa kicked off the winning streak with a dominating victory in Misano, followed by back to back wins for Marquez in Aragon and Motegi. Last Sunday made it four in a row when Honda rider Cal Crutchlow secured his second GP victory at Philip Island in Australia.

With Crutchlow on the top step of the rostrum Down Under, Marquez was forced to watch from the sidelines after a mistake made by the 23 year old Spaniard saw him crash out of the lead.

“In Australia we tried to do a great race, but although we ultimately weren’t successful, we always look at the positives,” he said. “In this case, I once again learned something and I’ll be more careful in similar situations in the future. When you feel good and are really enjoying the riding, the extra confidence you feel isn’t easy to control, but we’ll try.”

Heading into the penultimate round of the season, the triple world champion is aiming for another victory, which would be Honda’s 280th win in the premier class, even if their pre season test here wasn’t that positive…

“Now we are in Sepang, a track where we always test in February and therefore we know very well,” Marquez added. “Anyway, when we came here for the winter test, we were still struggling to find our direction with the bike setup. Moreover, soon after that test, they completely resurfaced the track; therefore, we must wait and see how we will be able to manage this weekend. I’m very curious about the track, to see how much smoother the surface is now and how much faster it will allow us to lap.”
