The new for 2017 Team Vortex contender was unveiled this morning by a very proud six time Bathurst champion, Craig Lowndes.
This will be the team’s second season after debuting in 2016 and the Commodore’s fresh new look sees the 888 car swapping last year’s deep ocean green and Caltex red livery for a bright coat of white.
“Last year was all about getting the formula right,” Craig said. “This year we can apply all that we learned last year and focus on getting consistent results. I have got a very strong team behind me and I’m really excited to continue developing that relationship with Irish (John McGregor, Race Engineer). He obviously engineered me for the last few races in 2016 and did a fantastic job, so I’ve no doubt that we’ll only get better together with time.”
The Caltex logo has been incorporated into the finished look, creating a camouflage pattern across the car and Lowndes admitted that he was a surprised by the new look.
“I was surprised when I saw the car at first, it’s so different to last year. I really can’t wait to get it on track; I think it will have a great presence. It all ties together really well – the team merchandise, my suit, the car, it’s all got a great look.”
