West Ham pulled off another huge upset overnight, stunning defending champions Chelsea 2-1 at Upton Park, as Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands with Chelsea's season now life support.

It was chaos for Chelsea in East London with another defeat and a huge question mark hanging over the club as Jose Mourinho declined to answer any questions or speak to the media at all after being sent off for a half-time incident.

The match ended with Nemanja Matic sent off for a second yellow, Mourinho and his assistant Silvino Louro following the Serbian down the tunnel, and a further four Chelsea players booked due to many protests.

West Ham started the better of the two teams, with Dimitri Payet constantly causing problems. It was his corner that brought the opening goal after just 17 minutes. Diego Costa's poor clearance fell into the feet of Mauro Zarate as he thrashed the ball past Asmir Begovic.

After 56 minutes, Chelsea won a corner from which Cahill powered an equalizer past Adrian. The pivotal point of the match came 20 minutes later, with Aaron Creswell's cross finding substitute Andy Carroll who easily headed home.

The win for the Hammers sees them climb to third momentarily with Manchester United still to play, while Chelsea are languishing in 15th with top four hopes slipping away.

Arsenal have gone top after Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny scored two goals in two minutes in their 2-1 win over Everton at the Emirates.

Arsenal made a sluggish start and had to endure a nervy finish, but in between they turned on the style to reach the Premier League summit for the first time since early 2014.

Giroud scored his third goal in as many games and Koscielny added a second before a deflected Ross Barkley goal gave Everton hope. However, it never eventuated as Gareth Barry was sent off for two bookings to complete another frustrating evening for the Toffees.
