After two days of testing for the Renault Formula One team, on June 7th on the Valencia circuit in Spain and then again on July 12th, this time on the Le Castellet circuit in France, both times behind the wheel of a 2012 Formula 1 E20 V8, Robert Kubica will be driving this year's car, the R.S.17 during the scheduled F1 test on August 2nd after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

This test will be the next stage in the assessment of the Polish driver's abilities with a view to him returning to the Formula One World Championship series in the future.

"The first two days (of testing) were very rich in regard to learning not only for Robert but also for us,” explained Cyril Abiteboul, Managing Director of Renault Sport Racing.

“This session on the Budapest circuit with the R.S.17 will allow us to obtain more precise information with a current car and in representative conditions. At the end of this test we will analyze the data to determine how it would be possible for Robert to return to competition in the years to come. "
