James Courtney didn't have the race he hoped for today when after qualifying down in P18, he finished the race in the exact same position.

Courtney started the race on old tyres and despite the fact that his car looked after them better than his teammates did, giving him speed at the end of the 200km race, the overall pace just wasn't there to help him move up through the field, leaving him no better at the end of the day than he was at the start.

“We just didn't have the car speed today,” James said. “Qualifying was tough, and the opening stage of the race we just couldn't find the right balance. It did look after the tyre well in the final stint, but the race was over by that stage. Time to go test some more stuff and switch into endurance mode.”

Before the team heads to Sandown to start the enduro season in four weeks' time they will have their third and final test day at Winton, which will take place next week, giving them the opportunity to continue to develop the car, try some different things, and get the co-drivers more laps behind the wheel.
