Lee Holdsworth may have missed last year's Ipswich Supersprint due to the injuries sustained in his crash in the Darwin round weeks before the event took place at the Queensland Raceway, however the Preston Hire Racing Supercar racer is now on the hunt for results at this weekend's 8th round of the 2017 season south of Brisbane.

Despite missing the race last year, Lee is keen to return to a track he is very familiar with, and one he grew up racing karts right beside, and can't wait to get back on top of things starting with the free practice sessions here tomorrow.

“As far as driving technique goes, QLD Raceway is a relatively simple circuit. It's not the most exciting track but with 4 long straights and 3 big braking zones it always makes for good racing,” Lee said.

“It's another round I missed last year so I'm looking forward to the challenge of getting back on top of it. As a kid I grew up racing go karts next door at the Ipswich Kart Clab and I watched plenty of races at QR so it does feel like familiar territory each time I return.”

Lee won't be on his own this weekend as co-driver Karl Reindler will join him for the additional co driver practice session here tomorrow.

It will be a big weekend all round with the team counting on strong support from their official charity, SLSQ, who will be waving the red and yellow flags.
