2016 wasn’t an easy debut Supercars season for the Preston Hire Racing season, however Team 18 rolled with the punches and grew stronger with each round.
Fans will remember how in just their second championship round at Symonds Plains, Lee Holdsworth put the car into the top five in qualifying with further improvements in Perth and Winton, however a horror smash in Darwin not only injured their star driver, but also forced them to use a Dunlop Series car as the could not afford to fix their one and only contender.
Sadly it meant that Holdsworth, who suffered injuries to his pelvis, knee and ribs, was forced to sit out for three months, however he is now fully recovered and eager for 2017 to get underway…
“Having a year under our belts now plus locking in some great staff to start the new season will mean a much more organized start to the season,” Lee said. “We’ll arrive at the Clipsal 500 in March with a well-structured more competitive team.”
