Andrew Bogut has become a casualty of Kevin Durant's move the Warriors, with the Australia joining the Dallas Mavericks.

After securing Oklahoma City Thunder star Durant on a two-year deal worth $US54 million, Golden State needed to free up some salary cap space, with Bogut forced to make way.

"Wish the best for my mates in the Bay as I look forward to joining the boys in Dallas," Bogut wrote on Instagram.

"Go Mavs!!!"

The former No.1 draft pick will earn $US11 million next season, in what was due to be the final year of his three-year contract.

Bogut joined the Warriors from the Milwaukee Bucks in 2012, after seven years with the Bucks.

He won the 2015 NBA Championship and was part of the side's record breaking 73 win season this year.
