The first test for the upcoming 2017 MotoGP season is about to kick off at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia this morning with several teams all ready and raring to go.

Several will be out on their newly revealed 2017 bikes, such as Ducati, Yamaha and Suzuki and most should have their regular riders in tow.

For Ducati, there will be an extra name to add to the agenda, that of Australian champion Casey Stoner, who will be helping the regular riders, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso.

Stoner, who was on duty for the team here last week, suffered with poor weather conditions, so Ducati made the call to put the Aussie to use on a third bike today, and possibly Wednesday.

Valentino Rossi and his new teammate, Maverick Vinales will both be in action for Yamaha for what will be the first real test for all concerned and a chance to compare their machinery against their rivals.

We here at Zero Throttle will bring you all the news and times from the test as soon as they come to hand.
