About:
Felipe is the man that is not supposed to be racing in 2017. He retired from the sport at the end of 2016 after finishing his 250th Grand Prix. In that time he almost won the world championship, but after pumping his fists in the air at the win, a few seconds later it was cruelly snatched away. Fans worldwide will always remember the moment when he realized Lewis Hamilton had snatched it from underneath him, emotion took over and he sat hi his Ferrari and sobbed uncontrollably. He had a horrid accident in Hungary the following year when a spring fell off David Coulthard’s car ahead of him on track and bounced up and penetrated his helmet, almost taking out his left eye. He sat the rest of the season out, but was never quite the same again. In 2017 he will hopefully lead Williams to their strongest season in a decade.
